What is the story? Transforming News Events into Narratives

Using real world events as an inspiration source for writing a book or screenplay is done by many authors. We aim to establish a story engine that describes an automated process to transform news events into narrative events, which will help answer our research question: how can we transform ‘real world events’ to ‘narrative events’? The transformation is done by thematic planning, this means that the theme is responsible for the type of plan created. The result of the engine is a basic story skeleton which could be further developed by an author to create a full story. The resulted story skeleton is evaluated to determine if the generated story skeleton is understood by readers.
